The forest in fairy tales

Students work on the "forest" as a geographical element and an inner place.

STEPS

1. Teacher introduces the project and students view images of different types of wood

2. Brainstorming activation: what is a material forest and what is an inner forest?

3. The geographical forest: description of the different types of forest and the communities that live there, location of it on the map;

4. The inner forest: place of contemplation and quiescence (Sleeping Beauty in the woods), place of loss and of the unknown (Dante's dark forest), a fantastic place without rules (Cosimo and the Rampant Baron), place of initiation and maturation (Little Red Riding Hood);

5. The evolution of fairy tales: reading steps taken from some versions of Little Red Riding Hood. Interpretation of the migratory movements of the fairy tale in a socio-cultural and geographical key.

6. How to use Google Maps for the creation of a story map

Il bosco nelle favole 

​

Gli studenti lavorano sul tema del bosco nelle fiabe e in Cappuccetto Rosso: ambiente geografico e ambiente interiore

FASI

1. Presentazione del progetto e visione di immagini di diversi tipi di bosco,

2. Attivazione di brainstorming: cosa è un bosco materiale e cosa è un bosco    interiore?

3. Il bosco geografico: descrizione dei diversi tipi di bosco e delle comunità che li abitano, localizzazione degli stessi sulla carta geografica;

4. Il bosco interiore: luogo di contemplazione e di quiescenza (La bella addormentata nel bosco), luogo dello smarrimento e dell’ignoto  (La selva oscura di Dante), luogo fantastico e privo di regole (Cosimo e il Barone rampante), luogo di iniziazione e di maturazione (Cappuccetto Rosso);

5. L’evoluzione delle fiabe: lettura di passi tratti da alcune versioni di Cappuccetto Rosso.  Interpretazione dei movimenti migratori della fiaba in chiave socio-culturale e geografica.

6. Come usare Google Maps per l’ideazione di una story map;
